Moorhouse Works was formed in 2001 to develop software systems for medium sized enterprises, including government departments and NGOs.
We combine our technical abilities with our business knowledge and apply these skills to our projects. With over 14 years of software development experience we can provide a wide array of proven solutions.
Our approach focuses on your business processes and how they can be improved with our technology. We work with you to provide the best solutions to meet your needs.
As a small progressive company we can respond to your needs and develop to your time scales, not ours. We are flexible and used to delivering quality results to tight schedules.
We are competent in many technologies and therefore we do not use one single tool for every situation but use what best fits the requirements for the solution. We use the best technology from reputable vendors, rather than slavishly being bound to one supplier. This includes open source solutions where they deliver a clear business or technological advantage.
We believe in making technology work for people rather than forcing people to fit the process.
Technical Consultant
David has worked for a variety of organisations including Ernst & Young, LIFFE, S G Warburg, British Airways, and Swiss Bank/UBS.
After achieving a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Business Management) at the University of Canterbury, David continued to study while working and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. He moved to London in 1991 and started work as a computer contractor working for various firms within the City of London, primarily in the finance sector.
His training as an accountant provides a useful insight into computer systems from a business perspective, something which is often lacking with a technology focused approach.
Since starting Moorhouse Works, David has worked on a number of bespoke development projects, especially in business analysis and Delphi development roles.
David's strengths include analysing business requirements, object oriented design and development using UML design tools together with Borland Delphi, SQL databases and web technologies. He enjoys using these skills to develop custom databases and administration software.
David has also written articles for the acclaimed development journal The Delphi Magazine. He contributes to technical newsgroups and regularly answers technical questions for other developers.
